Anivance AI, a new startup derived from the organ chip of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, announced that it has completed a seed round of fundraising of NT$72 million and successfully introduced support from two major industrial investors, Darwin Precision Co.,Ltd and Ba Fang International Investment Co.,Ltd., which will help promoteAnivance AI’s organ chip technology to enter the international market.

Professor Guanyu Chen of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, founder of Anivance AI, said that Anivance’s organ chip technology further integrates AI agents and automation platforms, greatly improving the accuracy and reproducibility of data processing, shortening the time for drug development and reducing testing costs. The funds raised this time will be invested in the development of next-generation high-performance chips and AI agent platforms, and will promote in-depth cooperation with international pharmaceutical companies.

The investment from Darwin Precision and Ba Fang International will also enable Anivance AI to leverage the two companies’ manufacturing technology, optical expertise and international market experience to help it accelerate the large-scale production of organ chips, improve its supply chain layout and expand its international market.

Chen Guanyu also shared that Anivance AI recently received recognition from PETA, the world’s largest animal rights organization, and became the first Taiwanese company to be selected for its In Silico/In Vitro Testing Resources list, further strengthening its professional position in the international market.

According to Statista, global drug research and development spending exceeded US$300 billion in 2023. As an innovative tool to replace animal experiments, organ-on-a-chip technology is expected to have an average annual market growth rate of more than 30% in the next five years, gradually becoming a key driving force in the field of drug screening and safety testing.
